The Finish Line is in Sight
In my time on the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District board, I have advocated for projects, such as the disinfection of treated wastewater, that have measurably improved water quality in the Chicago area waterways, and for the expansion of safe, secure collection sites for people to dispose of unused or expired medications so they don’t flush them down the toilet. I also led passage of a resolution signaling MWRD’s pledge to meet the goals of the Paris Climate Agreement, and our investments in green infrastructure are now capturing 38 million gallons per rain event throughout Cook County due to the Watershed Management Ordinance.
Now I’m running for re-election and I’m rowing hard to be victorious on March 20.
I do have an opponent, however, who drew the first ballot position, which historically has been a coveted spot. I assure you I am not taking anything for granted, but I can’t get re-elected without your help.
There are two last events coming up for my re-election campaign.
On Sunday, March 4, we will have a gathering at Prairie Moon in Evanston that had been postponed in December due to the untimely death of my colleague, Commissioner Tim Bradford.

On Monday, March 5, donors of $500 or more will have the rare opportunity to experience a 30-minute guided tour of renowned architecture and urban design firm Studio Gang. Contributors of $100 or more are invited to join us following that tour at a reception in the Treehouse on the studio’s rooftop, which features a native prairie green roof. For security reasons, we must have RSVPs for the tour before the event.

Won’t you help me surge across the finish line to victory? I'm aiming to raise $50,000 in the coming weeks to pay for direct mail and election day materials.
